Puzzle for March 31, 2010

Friday is the 217th anniversary of the founding of the US Mint. Before the Coinage Act began current usage of decimal-based money (1 penny is 1/100 of a dollar), the money used to be used in fractional units.

For example, a dollar was broken into 1/2 and 1/4 and 1/8th and 1/16th units. (there was no dime, no penny, etc) How much was each in today's way of counting money?
