Puzzle for February 4, 2010

Here is an extract from a note from our building facilities team

"I wanted to report our company wide energy savings progress in these numbers:

We have saved 1,944,806 kWh so far since the program started in April.
This equates to enough energy to light 78 homes for 20 years.

We have saved 2,781,073 pounds of CO2 emissions from generation plants.
This is the equivalent CO2 consumption of 379 acres of trees for one year, or
removing 78 cars off the roads for 3 years.

(Our) goal is to save 8% of energy usage over last year. (Our building) is at 2%. A good savings, but we need to do more.

Please remember to do the following:
Turn off your monitors daily, but not your computers, when your day ends. Turn off radios, fans, lamps (including under shelf lighting), TV's and any other electrical device in your workspace and unit when you leave for the day."

So today's question is, How many kWh of electricity does an average home use (for lighting) in a month? Would it be easier to figure out the daily rate?
