Puzzle for October 7, 2008

Yesterday we talked about the form of Amateur Radio callsigns. The callsigns are issued sequentially in a way that KA0AAA would be follwed by KA0AAB and KA0AAC and KA0AAZ would be followed by KA0ABA. And KA0ZZZ would be followed by KB0AAA.

(The "0" remains because it is the region marker not part of the iterations). For you mathgeeks out there like me, that means we're functionally doing base-26 math!

So here's the question: How many people in my region got a callsign before I got my "KC0ITD"?
